After impressing judges with their innovation in the nut butter category, KOKADA the Original Coconut Spread was crowned the winner of NOSH Live Pitch Slam 11.

The competitive pitch slam competition was held by NOSH, a business publication for the natural packaged food industry, and was held over two days this past week in Santa Monica, California. With competition including sprouted nuts, mushroom jerky, internationally inspired ice cream, and more, KOKADA was in the midst of several strong brands.

“Our goal was to be authentic to our brand and ourselves and share, what we believe, is a product that makes a difference and people love,” says Breanna Atkinson, co-founder ofKOKADA. “When you have a product that can be enjoyed by so many in so many different ways, it’s easy to share that with judges in a competition like this!”

KOKADA interested judges with their innovative, coconut-based dessert spreads that are also nut free, refined sugar free, vegan, and made using organic ingredients. Their bold plans to shake up the nut butters and spreads in pantries excited the judges and showed that they are ready to continue sharing their coconut spreads with customers across the country.

“We know that we have a solution to a problem that a lot of people have” said co-founder and COO, Jared Golestani, “We’re passionate about sharing our better-for-you, allergen friendly, coconut-based dessert spreads with the world!”

As the champion of NOSH Pitch Slam 11, KOKADA won a $10,000 advertising package and the coveted Pitch Slam trophy. Their immediate plans for the future are to expand into natural retailers across the country in the new year.
